Who is bulk billed, and what to know about cost.
How billing works
Wilmer Medical Service is a bulk-billing practice. For Medicare-eligible services, all eligible concession patients — pension, Health Care Card and DVA card holders — are bulk billed. That means we bill Medicare directly and there is nothing for you to pay on the day.
If you do not hold a concession card, tell us when you book and we will explain how billing applies to your visit before you come in.
Check before you visit
If cost matters to your decision, ask when you book. Tell us what the visit is for, and we will tell you how it will be billed. Some services are not listed on Medicare — those are explained below, and any cost is always discussed with you, or your next of kin, before we go ahead.
What to bring
Bring your Medicare card to every appointment, along with any pension, Health Care, or DVA cards you hold. We need to see current cards to bill Medicare correctly on your behalf.
Bulk billing and concessions
- Bulk billing
- Wilmer Medical Service is a fully bulk-billed service for all eligible concession patients — pension, Health Care Card and DVA card holders — for Medicare-eligible services. For these services there is nothing to pay on the day. If you don't hold a concession card, ask about billing when you book.
- Veterans (DVA)
- DVA card holders are bulk billed for Medicare-eligible services.
- Concession and pension
- Pension and Health Care Card holders are bulk billed for Medicare-eligible services.
Services not covered by Medicare
Private fees may apply for services that are not listed on Medicare. If a service attracts a private fee, we discuss the cost with you — or your next of kin — before going ahead.
